Ngoc Dupont

Co-director of Ecojustice Camp South Shore, Ngoc taught for 16 years as an elementary school teacher before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Currently, she teaches religious education at First Parish UU in Cohasset.

Aside from exploring the great outdoors with her husband and three children, Ngoc enjoys being in the gardens, hanging out with her backyard chickens, and tending to her beehives. She is a nature enthusiast and a committed environmentalist.

Dan Harper

Co-director of Ecojustice Camp South Shore, Dan is also one of the founders of the original Ecojustice Camp in Palo Alto, Calif. A long-time educator, he’s a California State Certified Naturalist, and holds a Massachusetts Audubon Field Naturalist Certificate.

Dan has been leading summer workshops on ecojustice and ecological spirituality for adults and kids since 2006. Professionally, he’s minister at First Parish in Cohasset. Dan on iNaturalist.

Matt Mulder

Matt is the father of four and a middle school teacher in Scituate. He has previously worked at the SquashBusters after-school program in Boston as academic and community service coordinator.

He loves exploring the outdoors with his family.

Carol Steinfeld

Carol is a writer specializing in ecological pollution prevention issues, and the author of The Composting Toilet System Handbook.

She was on staff at Ecojustice Camp in California, and enjoys introducing children and teens to ecoloigcal pollution prevention and waste reduction strategies. She is pleased to be able to help bring Ecojustice Camp to the South Shore.


Summer staff in 2025

Listed below are summer staff for the 2024 camp. 2025 staff will be listed when their participation is confirmed.

Chad Hasson

Chad has volunteered for years in youth programs, including scouting programs, Sunday school programs, and more. He enjoys camping and the outdoors.

Kenny Paul

Kenny loves the outdoors, and is a long-time supporter of Carriage House Nursery School. In retirement, he has many volunteer projects going on, including maintaining the building and grounds of First Parish in Cohasset.

Amara Mulder

Amara is a physician at South Shore Medical Hospital with over 15 years of practicing medicine. She is the on-call physician during Ecojustice Camp Week.

Apply for staff positions

We are always looking for staff who are committed to environmentalism, and who enjoy working with children and middle schoolers.

Adult staff: To apply, please contact the co-directors, Ngoc Dupont and Dan Harper.

Counselors in Training (rising gr. 9) and Junior counselors (rising gr. 10 through age 18): To qualified teens, we can offer 40 hours of volunteer time. We will provide you with safety training. We offer you the opportunity to work with adults who are professional educators and committed environmentalists. We will support you and mentor you, as you have fun with campers, lead high-quality educational activities, and build your resume and work history. We have a wide array of lesson plans that you can use and adapt.

CITs are considered campers, and are mentored and trained by adult staff to take on leadership as appropriate. Junior Counselors are considered staff, and are encouraged to take on additional leadership responsibilities.

College students and high school students over age 18: We are especially interested in recruiting college students and high school students over age 18 who are considering careers in education and/or environmental science or the life sciences. We offer you the opportunity to work with adults who are professional educators and committed environmentalists, and to build your resume. We offer an honorarium.

We will provide you with safety training, and all staff over age 18 must complete a criminal background check. You will be considered a member of adult staff. However, due to insurance restrictions, only those over age 25 may drive campers for camp activities.
